Just as I was writing my last post about about needing to find a new challenge, I was fortunate enough to come across something that sparked my interest. Without getting into the nitty gritty – since I had to back off running (read: not run) over the last year I have become far more aware of my motabolism. Because I had been constantly on high-mileage training schedules for so long, I let myself get pretty sloppy with my eating habits. It doesn’t help that I also have an insatiable sweet tooth. However, during this time I have becomes increasingly more dissatisfied with my body image. I strongly believe is moderation…the problem is that once I start going down the “unhealthy” eating route I find it hard to get back on track without making a firm commitment.
Enter the “Spring Reset Challenge.”

What I like about this challenge is that it seems incredibly doable. Rather than adhering strictly to any one “diet philosophy,” is seems to extract the principles from a few different schools of thought. Moreover, the underlying premise is changing one’s underlying relationship with and mindset toward food, rather than creating rules and restrictions. Additionally, certain sweets are allowed in moderation (like dark chocolate) which also makes me very happy! There are also a number of “support” systems provided, such as an eating guide and cookbook, meal plans, and accountability groups. I’m hoping that the group accountability component will really help to keep me on track.
